Ok heres an interesting turn of fate
I am being offered a 89 525 with 220k for about 2500
now heres the thing. Should i be scared about the 220k?
the engine sounds good but how well can you go on that?=) not very
so what do you guys think?theres no leaks or anything
suggestions?

So long as the body/suspension is good, I wouldn't worry about it. Motor's are cheap.

As long as you're happy with the car man. You can post all day long until you're blue in the face, but nobody can tell you what to buy.

There wasn't any funny tricks with the M20 that it blew up after so many miles...those cars are pretty solid. The best you can do is have a mechanic check it out. Other than that, who knows?

Its official...im now the owner of a 89 535 automatic
i am very pleased i pick it up saturday in MD=)

Find the latest copy of Bimmer Magazine. There's an awesome writeup about taking care of the M30 motor (in your 535i).

Is it a 535 or 525? You typed both of them in different posts....
