VIN: WBADN5336XGC92308
Year: 1999
Model: 540is-6
Miles: 99,850
Color: Titanium Silver
Interior: Black Leather
Wheels: 19" custom (I have the type around here somewhere....they're GORGEOUS....put on by the last owner)
Tires: 245/40/19 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s with <6000 miles on them

Update 7/24/06: By the way, I raced my buddy's M5 today (I granny shifted, don't worry) and honest to god, this thing kept right up! We were on an onramp and he was infront of me and I actually had to come off the accelerator to keep from hitting him!

He said he was in sport more, DSC off and AC off.....go figure, but this 540 is FAST!!!

I'm selling my '99 E39 540i-6 for an upgrade (to be determined later). It's in excellent condition now despite a few routine maintennance issues over the last year. The exterior is in incredible condition and it still shocks me how beautiful it looks. You won't get looked over in this car.

Factory Options:

Sport Package (obviously with 6-speed)
DSP
Comfort Seats ($1200 option! Very rare and extremely comfortable!)
Rear and side sunshades

Exterior mods:

01+ OEM Angel Eye Headlights
01+ OEM CELIS Tails
01+ OEM Clear Side Markers
M5 Front Bumper
M5 Mirrors (not attached in these pics)
M5 Chrome Grilles

Performance mods:

Dinan CAI
Dinan S2 Software
JB Racing Lightweight Flywheel (absolutely incredible! See my review here: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428002&highlight=flywheel.....also, the chatter is gone with new tranny fluid)
New OEM Clutch about 9,000 miles ago
M5 Short Shift Kit
Clutch Delay Valve Removal

Interior Stuff:

Hard-wired Valentine 1 Radar Detector (included for free!!!!!)
///M Door Panels
///M Shifter Knob Cover

And did I mention this car has a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s all around with <6000 miles on them?? They handle like CRAZY!

This car has been taken very good care of since I got it. I have the complete service history for the past year of course. Every little maintennance issue has been fixed very quickly by skilled mechanics. Furthermore, I've taken the liberty of already replacing most of what goes wrong in E39 540s.......the radiator, radiator connector hose, and AC compressor for example are all brand new and under warranty.

The interior is much cleaner than this now and when you'll get it! Trust me:

I have more pics on my other computer and will post them soon.

Asking $18,000 obo

Trust me, you won't regret buying this car. I've invested probably near $10k into it in a year.

PM me for phone number or more information.

Why would someone go through the trouble of an M5 front bumper without the rear bumper too? Looks weird with just half of the conversion done.

Ellicit..if you do the M5 bumper...make sure it's BUMPERS and not one bumper.

I've never had anyone mention that before. The reason I never got the rear bumper is that I never heard any exhaust that I liked that would have worked with the rear. Simple as that.

Possible future mod?

i have the front bumper only as well. i like the looks of the rear bumper but can't use it with my existing dinan exhaust. i think it would hang below where the opening is cut and look REALLY bad.

hey, what are the "luxury seats"?

someone told me i have 7 series seats in my '98 540i and i wondered what he meant? are there sport and luxury seats like in the earlier m3?

I think he's referring to an option for "comfort seats." They were a $1200 option that gave lumber adjustment and upper backrest adjustment capabilities. They might have been standard in the 7 series.:)

Yes, that's the name! Sorry! I will say that my Dad's 2000 740i does NOT have these seats and they are in fact more comfortable than his. I think they were even an option on the 740s!

Damn...that's just bad timing. Going through the process of buying a home atm. Wife and I already decided to start looking at getting a 5 toward the end of the year as a Christmas gift to replace the E36 with. This would be the perfect gift. Oh well...maybe someone else will be selling a 540i6 around Christmas.
