Hey Mini Owners!

What is the top of the line stereo option available in the Mini Cooper S? Can you get a CD Changer in it from factory?? In the dash, or is it a remote changer (like I have in my Z3)???

Thanks in advance!

Dave

I'm not sure if they have an upgrade from what I have - I'm going to change it out anyway - but, I have an in dash cd (single) radio combo.

I never liked stock components because they don't sound very well. When I got my M3, all I did was change the head unit out first, and it made a world of difference.

I wonder if a CD changer can be added easily, like I did in my Z3...

The only options that I'm aware of are the Harman Kardon upgrade. The upgrade includes 8 upgraded speakers, upgraded Amp and Digital sound processing. The cd changer is a boot mounted changer. I have not started with my audio upgrade, but have researched adding a changer that will play mp3 files. The only product I have found that makes this possible while using the stock head unit is the Blitzsafe adapter.

Thanks guys. My Z3 was pre-wired for a CD Changer, I just threw the Alpine in my trunk, mounted it and plugged it in. I assume it's a similar procedure with the Mini?

Do they come "pre-wired"??

Not a huge deal if not, just curious...

My 02 model is pre-wired for BMW style plug. Have to buy adapter to accommodate the Alpine changer.
