SOLD

Hey y'all:

My wife and I are (unfortunately) selling our beloved 1991 BMW M5. In my opinion, it's the perfect family car - it's beautiful, reliable, roomy, and gets to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds. :D This M5 was hand-made in Germany by M guys with mullets, and is one of only 1500 E34 M5s imported to the United States.

It has a 3.6L inline six that makes 340hp (including gains from the Dinan performance chip), with a 5-spd manual transmission (with short-throw shifter). The engine pulls extremely hard all the way to redline - it's a joy to drive.

The exterior is black, with a pristine black leather interior. The leather seats have had sheepskins on them most of their lives, so they are virtually free of wear. This car also has a very rare option - a refrigerator that opens out of the middle rear seat back!

The car has just over 102,000 miles on it (an average of 6800 miles per year). It has a new radiator, auxiliary fan, fan clutch, motor mounts, transmission mounts, power steering hoses, brake pads, and tires, as well as a relatively new clutch and suspension bushings.

We are asking $12,900 for the car. Please email me (dave@scoutmasterdave.com) or call me (480.242.4575) if you are interested, and thanks for looking! The car is in the Phoenix, AZ area.

About the only trade I'd consider is a used 7' Baldwin grand piano, in satin black finish. :)

Sorry - I need to pay off a loan and get back to two cars in my two-car garage.

ok, worth a shot. If I can sell my 528 I will snap this up, but I doubt it will be around for long...lovely car.

How about a satin black Steinway grand piano? I have one sitting right next to me in flawless shape...

Uh, yeah - I'd take a Steinway over a Baldwin any day of the week. Gotta talk to the wife, but can you give me specifics?

What is the hard wire on the Cluster?
It's a radar detector, circa 1992 - it's pretty much worthless. I've thought about yanking it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I thought the S38B36 was 315bhp and the S38B38 put out 340bhp...

Of course the 3.8 never came here unless imported so I am thinking with some mods the car @ 3.6 could get to 340bhp... Great car by the way.

LOL with the sale.

You're correct, actually - it's 340hp with the Dinan chip - 311 stock.

I don't have the service turned on, but the phone definitely still works. It's so '91 - I love it.

Seeing all these nice M5's for sale with not interest makes me even more sure of my decision to drive mine until it just blows up (255k on chassis, 95k on rebuilt eng./trans). I like the car way too much to part with it for the price of a used Civic.
