I know that by even looking it will be tough to resist, but I thought I'd get a few opinions first. I have only spoke with the owner a little bit, but this is the beginning...

This 633csi is a 1982 with, roughly, 150k miles. 5-spd, dark blue on blue. Current owner has had it for about two years and bought it from an owner who had it for the previous 5-6. That owner bought it from CA (the car is now in MI and has been since the late 90's). It hasn't been in the snow much but does have a little bit of rust (will get exact location shortly). The water pump has been replaced and the AC is weak. It's been driven routinely (~3k miles this season). The asking price is just south of $3K.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Thanks!

I received a bit more info on this 6 from the seller.

The body is stated to be in good condition, no dents. The paint only has minor scratches and is not faded. The above mentioned rust is located in the top of the front fenders above the wheels and at the lower front edge of the rear wheel wells (minor holes). The shock towers are supposedly in good condition.

There are no cracks in the dash and the headliner has been replaced. The front seats may have been redone (as they are in great shape), but the back seat leather is dried out. The carpet is OK (faded, not torn).

From the service records he has shared with me from '99+, the following has been done:

Water pump replaced - 145k
Rebuild front calipers - 137k
Re-adjust clutch master; Replace drive belts - 133k
Replace rear window and headliner - 114k
Replace front/rear pads, right rear caliper - 114k
Replace clutch disc, pressure plate - 111k
Replace thermostat - 110k

Worth a look? Anything I should make sure to look out for? Pricing?

Thanks again!

Pricing sounds about right. Look it over well. The milage isn't such a big deal as the drive trains are close to bullet proof, it's the rest of the car. We also need to get you out of a Ford.:naughty

Thanks, OG. Kind of hard to NOT drive a Ford in these parts (SE MI), but I think I could handle it with a nice 6.

I won't be able to see it for a few days and appreciate any response you all may have on specific points made about this car and or what to inspect/look out for on these models.

It's a little known secret that I too drive a Ford. It's a '96 F250 4x4, fi 460, I need it to drag my trailer to the mountains.

the biggest enemy to the 6 is rust.since you say it's in the rear, throughly inspect the rear fender wells, the front fender wells, rockers and under the car.
any rust at all can be a negotiating tool.my 1st 6 was in poor shape, but i stumbled across it for only $500..was able to sell it for $1800 and bought my 2nd.i found that one while searching for parts on the 1st one.
