Backstory:
Purchased car thru a broker in '01 with 67,xxx miles. Front-end collision in '02 (not in Carfax), car was put in storage unrepaired until recently. All body repair is fresh with new BMW parts. Exterior looks great. Interior is excellent except as described above. Leather is decent, shows wear where you'd expect it but no burns, rips, or cracks. Runs great. Handles as well as the day I bought it. Autocrossed once a few weeks ago (3rd & 4th behind two guys in a 350Z, way more fun than my STX-prepped Saabaru), never tracked.

I was going to finish fixing all the little things and shoot for $13-$14K but doing the driveway shuffle with my other car has me ready to just dump it at Carmax. Title is clean, clear, in-hand and ready to be signed over. Act now and I'll include SRS and CEL code readers, Chilton guide, and floor-jack adapter plate.

Car is located near Fort Lauderdale. I'm willing to deliver it within 150 miles, BUT I have next week off from work -- if you can get payment to me by Tuesday (7/11), I'll deliver it anywhere south of Virginia and east of the Mississippi by the weekend (7/15).

Some pictures are at flickr.com / photos / tby / sets / 72157594188918012. The first is recent, the others are old. If the weather is nice in the morning I'll take some fresh pics and post them from the office.

Fresh pictures uploaded. Despite the poor light, rain, and my terrible photography skills it should be clear that the car is in awesome condition given it's age, inside and out, with just a couple of very minor fixes needed.

By the way, the clutch's "issue" is just that the pedal needs to be depressed to the floor. Engagement is smooth, there's no grinding or slipping, someone not terribly familiar with E36s would probably think that it was in perfectly normal condition.

I'm really trying to have just one car. An early MkIV TDI + $4K-ish would be very tempting since my other car gets 20MPG doing 400 miles of commuting per week, but doing the math this morning I see that all of my fuel savings would just go to my insurance company :(

Hey - I am local and very interested. If you can get one AIM or give me an email address, I'd like to talk with you more about the car. I am also able to pick it up...

Anyway - send me an email at rossrodgers@gmail.com or send me an IM on AIM (see profile) and we'll see if something can be arranged...

Thanks...:)

Those wheels are the hotness. Email sent.

Locals are welcome to come look at the car, even if it's just so that you can post on here how nice it looks and that you wish you had the cash.

Car has a full tank of 93-octane too, so that's $45 or so in savings if you buy it and pick it up ;-)

So you would not be interested in my Volkswagen? For gas mileage, it easily gets 350 miles a tank and has no problems what-so-ever. Would you trade your car +$3000? I can negotiate!

I gotta try for an all-cash deal first because it just doesn't make a whole lot of financial sense for me to own two cars. If no acceptable cash offers materialize, we'll talk.

Added a pic with the OBC on for David A. flickr.com/photos/tby/sets/72157594188918012/

David A had quite a few questions about the condition of various parts of the car. I've tried to be brutally honest about the cars condition, to the best of my knowledge there is nothing else wrong with it. It runs great, looks great aside from the minor things I've described and photographed, handles great, even autocrosses great. On the highway I've had the speedometer well into "arrest me" territory with no issues. With my lead foot it still managed 22MPG on the last tank.

I'm willing to let the car go now for a low price because it has to compete for money against upgrades for my daily driver, and it's been losing to the Saab 9-2X for months. When I decided to finally get the M3 put back together it was with the intention of selling it, so it's foolish to leave it depreciating in my driveway waiting for me to get around to fixing the final few things.

Make me an offer.

Had some sunshine today so I gave the car a quick hose down and added more photos to the Flickr set. The framing on most shots stinks cause the LCD on my camera is busted and a recent speeding ticket convinced me to spend the new camera budget on a V1 instead.
