So i decided to do the valvecover gasket today since i was doing the plugs. I went to take out one of the 14 "double bolts" that go around the valve cover.

parts #6-#9
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BF93&mospid=47486&btnr=11_2308&hg=11&fg=15

as i was removing one of them, the bolt separated and didnt fully come out. Apparently there are two bolts on the nut (those of you who have done this before know what im talking about) and it allows the piece to separate. Now i have no clue how to remove the other half of the nut remaining in the valve cover. Any ideas? I cant be 100% certain, but it looks like its rounded and not an actual hex head that i can remove. Thanks for the help.

its a stud that screws back into the head.

Put it in a vice, attempt that way.

Basically, what i believe... is the Bolt/Nut is two peice, two stage if you will... The top half unscrewed from the bottom half, and the bottom half was in the Valve Cover.

Never seen this til tonight.

Wrap the Vice in tape or use a cloth so you dont damage the threads.
