I recently installed two used tail light chrome bezels with new black gaskets on my '89 CSi. The problem is that there is now a considerable gap between the rubber gasket at the bottom and the opening in the sheet metal in which it fitss. The gap in places is at least a quarter of an inch. In other places it's wide enogh to fit the thickness of a credit card. The previous bezel/gasket had a nice tight fit with no gaps. I've tried removing and reinstalling the tail light assemblies several times but to no avail. It seems there is only one way in which these aseemblies fit so why the gap and how can I correct?
