My rear tires on my M3 are completely shot. I've come up with a couple viable options.

For 154$ each I can get the new Kumho Ecsta MX's installed. America's tire can guarantee those tires if anything goes wrong with them and they need to be sent back

For 175$ each I can get the Potenza SO-3's installed (might be a little more expensive). Those ones however I'd have no guarantee on if something goes wrong.

What do you say?

I made this decision a few months ago and went with MX's. The price difference for my 245/40/17 were more though.. like $45 per tire.

Though I am happy with my MX's, with only $21 difference, I would go S-03.

Another thing to consider is matching compounds with the front tires. If you go with different tires front and back, it will alter the handling characteristics of the car. You should try to keep the balance of your car, but if you really want to skimp on your tires, just get the Kumhos.

The Kumho in all of our test were vey good and would be a comparable tire. MVEED3 is correct though. If you mix tires some times they don't work well together. It is always best to match the tires front to rear.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you
