Did some searching, didn't find the results...

I was looking at European Car Magazine yesterday and saw an ad for TEIN Coilovers with EDFC. I liked it. On Tein's website there is an application for an E36 M3 with this unit. In the instructions it doesn't say anything about modifying the hood with "speed holes" or anything. I was just wondering if it fits? Has anyone tried it? Anything at all is helpful....

Are there any other products that offer electronic dampning from inside the car? My cousin had this on his 90 Mazda MX6 turbo and I thought it wa the coolest thing...

Heres the link to Tein...

TIA :)

I read in another thread that the stepper motor mounts on top of the shock. If this is the case, there is not enough clearence for the hood to shut, which is why people say you need the "speed holes." Which raises another question...Can you still have a strut tower bar when using the EDFC?

Anyone willing to enlighten us?
This must not be a popular mod..... Maybe because it costs $2000 for a coilover setup. I admit its a little crazy, but electronic damping force control from inside the car!! Its the coolest!!

ok here's the information. i tried to share this information like 2 months ago and i had to deal with a lot of non believers...theres another thread where i posted up pics of the suspension and the box etc. the kit i have is indeed for an e36 m3 with p/u mounts for the edfc motors. everyone thinks it wont clear the hood but most people dont know that tein offers 2 sizes of their edfc motors. i made everything fit without any modification...i've had the kit since probably march i believe. i got them through a friend of mine who is a distributor of tein products so i had them before they were released here in the U.S. but unfortunately i can't share the price i got them for. as for how i like it...these things are insanely stiff when set to the max.

you can have a strut tower brace as long as it doesnt cover the center of the shock tower. as long as the strut brace mounts by going around the shock tower if you know what i mean.

I have these too. Is the 'max' the 8 clicks from full clockwise position? Or in other words what they suggest in the installation instructions? What do you have yours set at?

question: what do the pillowball mounts do other than for the edfc?

Pillowball mounts = camber plates
