damn its tough:D

so did you try a 12 step program, go cold turkey, or what:)

i am trying to stop, but i can't:laugh

just bought a set of ACS pedals, looking for an aluminum ebrake handle, and i am about to purchase a set of 7500k HIDs:)

i don't think you can quit....maybe just cut back...that's my conclusion;)

note: the only reason i was trying to cut back on mods for my 318, is so i can buy a load of power mods for an m3;) ;) ;)

its a viscious cycle:D

The only thing that I that works 100% of the time is to be f#@%ing broke as a joke like I am right now!!!

I'll tell ya, the retail business better get better in a damn-sure hurry or I won't have to worry about modding ever again...or having a car to mod!!

yeah i tried....didnt work. Its become a bad habit. Hell i havent had my car for 3 months.. its been in the shop getting a new engine.. and i have spent over 2k in mods for it... that are all going to be put on this weekend. Yeah.. i am a freak, what can I say. I love bmw. :D

PS: Some people say i need rehab for my addiction, I rather think that at least I will OD happy :D

Yeah, I can't believe that I have had my car for less than a year and I've spent almost $3000 on it already. Sometimes I think that I could have had a real-deal M3 for the money I've spent, but I really like my car and the way it looks now.

after every mod i say i'm gonna quit cause its more trouble than its worth

this suspension install, took over a week due to wrong parts etc, kept going back and forth to the mechanic, bill kept going up and up and at the end of the day my new sways didn't go on because i had the wrong bushings (probably won't go on anymore

today, its just not worth the trouble

but we'll see about tomorrow :az:

Try to set a specific goal for the car, and stay away from mods that don't accomplish it. For example, I first thought I'd prepare my M3 for A stock autocross competition. I specifically didn't do several mods because they'd be illegal for that.

Just make a plan and stick to it. Yeah, I know easier said than done. Worse comes to worse, get a 'Mod' car, and save the other one for daily driving.

My solution was to do driving schools, ever since I started I haven't bought a new mod :D But have spent a fortune on entry fees and repairing broken parts :(

I fixed one problem but created another

willy and sibal:
when looking at those cars of yours, one can't help but hear you say "I tried to quit modding", without wondering exactly how hard it was you tried.;)

i am not sensing much of a struggle to quit here:D

I made a decision about a month ago that I was only going to spend on mods that actually improved performance, and not on bling things that did nothing except look cool...

...then I got a new set of mirrors in the mail. And I'm looking for a billet e-brake handle and some aluminum dash pieces coming in the next week or so....

...well, it sounded good at the time!!:biglaughb

Actually, of all the addictions I've had in my life this one is the least destructive and all told the least expensive so what the hell!!

:laugh i think that's exactly how it works:)

it all "sounds" good when you say it....but how many of us put our actions into words when talking about stopping:)

i know i have to put my hand down.

I can honestly say I am done modding my car. At least until I get a new one. I set a goal when I bought the M3 and I've reached it. She's as good as gold now. Now I'm getting over the mod bug for the time being and zapped with a new bug. Scuba diving... also very expensive.

the words "quit" and "mods" should never be in the same sentence at the same time ;)

It goes in the K&N and comes out my exhaust, but I kinda left out the specifics on everything in between lol

Read the Bertha thread :)

Let me put it this way..

I spent 17K out of my pocket for my X-'95 M3(10K from parents- 17K from me:))

Then I spent around 8K in mods for her. That is not that bad right??:devillook

Well my incoming car which I don’t even have yet is even worse:astromile

I bought her for $9,000 and have already put $13,000 into mods just for my shop to do before they hand me over the car:evil2

FYI the day the car comes to my house I am going to start installing the $5,000 worth of Zapco components I am in the process of buying as we speak:alright

Oh yea $1,400 for an alarm

Almost forgot...Custom Interior from carpet to liner 2K-3K

I also know that the day I get my car I will be buying tons of little things here and there which add up fast:(

To sum things up the Mod/Car Price ratio is well over 2/1 = ~22K/9K. Considering that this is all before I even have the car in my hands I would say I am most likely a record setting MODoholic and I am luvin every minute of it:buttrock But I am not proud of it to tell you the truth. I am lucky enough to have a pimp ass job at 18 and am still to ignorant to save my money for my future. It’s BMW’s fault I swear. Oh well I will wait for the day when it all comes back and kicks me in the ass then I will bitch about my MODoholism

SC5- What are you talking about. You don’t know what a mod is:devillook:biglaughb

Peace, Sean

I'm poised to throw another 12 - 15k into Baby's motor even as we speak.

Now I got Nanny too, PIAA Superwhites, Solaris Extremes, and I'm starting to think about an M5 motor and trans for her (83 7331).
My wife will have me sleeping out doors if I try modding the 733i.

It's an "f_in" disease.

But I love it so!!:D

Cheers

I sent you a freebie but you have to buy the billet. I am so in hock to the CNC machine shop.

I'm gonna have to get a tin cup and beg on street corners.

I am sure you can come up with a way to make a lot of $$ from it.

Maybe surround your tin or billet cup with some fiber optic rings:dunno

There are so few mods that have never been done under the hood that actually make the motors look more elegant and muscular at the same time. I hope the billet stuff does well. It looks terrific. People who see the protos here walk around with them in their hand and can't put them down.

Got a couple of hard core show freaks coming tomorrow to see them. I think I have half a dozen sets sold to them sight unseen. Most people know that if it gives me a woody, it's hot stuff. In this case literally. I might have to include a rubber hand guard. Metal gets warm.
