It's baaa-aaack.

Ya know, as much as I think that car is amazing and wonderful...I wouldn't want to own it. That's a museum car, not something that can be driven. For the right person, that'll make a great garage mahal ornament, or personal museum collection piece. I'll take my rough-round-the-edges cars for what they are and enjoy the heck outta them.

I think from what I've heard they're looking for 55-60k out of it or something. It will be interesting to see if it finally sells, and if so...for how much. I do wish my damn dash looked that good. Haha!

You are right on the museum quality. To me, what good is a car if you don't want to drive it. My son has a '97 M3 we need to sell, it has 126k on it. He doesn't even want me to go 6 miles to town because the miles will build up.

I wonder what the original owner was thinking when they bought it?? Did they intend to drive it and then just change their mind?? :confused

That's always an interesting thing to find out. Why would a car that is such an experience to drive not get driven? Put away as an investment? Strange story to be told? Forgotten and unused?

LOL - I've seen some funny stories on these low-mileage cars. The Bronzit M635 in the Zentrum right now belongs to a buddy of mine. It sat for years (only take n for short drives every week or three to keep everything fresh) because of translation issues with the Georgia DMV about the title/federalization, among other things.

That Black car depresses me - eBay is the wrong forum for that car, and I think he's devaluing E24 ///M cars by not selling it over and over and over and over....

Do you have more details on that? It sounds like an interesting story. How many miles are on it?

Around 5000 if I remember correctly. And was purchased for around 50K~...
I spent considerable time at the Zentrum during sharkfest drooling over it.

eBay IS the wrong place to sell this car.

5K miles on it - never been washed with water, still has factory wheel weights and lots more. Amazing car! If you're anywhere near the Zentrum, the whole thing is worth the trip!

Shit,
$44k and it didn't meet the reserve. The car was $55k new. What do they think, it should go up in value. There idiots.

When it was new, if you bought it and drove it off the lot, it went down $5k in value. $44k is about the right price for that car.

if they do think it will sell for more than new, someone missed out on a lot of fun driving.there is a buyer out there somewhere that will pay dearly for the right car.the hard part is finding that person.
i don't see how someone could have a car like that and not drive it.i've never owned a car just for viewing purposes.

Yea - there has been much conversation about that one over at Roadfly. I consider myself a little bit of an expert on the value of the E24 M-cars, and I'd go even a little lower than Russ.

There isn't any special story to the car (VIN#, ownership, etc.), most common color/interior and as a US model, it just isn't a special car outside of the low mileage. If it were me, I'd offer in the high $30's and go to the low $40's if I really wanted it.

Jimmy's 5K-mile Bronzit M635 exceeds that one in every way. You really have to see that car in person to appreciate it...I got very quiet [which is unusual] for about 25 minutes while I got a very close and careful sniff. Very, very nice car. Worth a trip to the Zentrum for a Shark lover...

The full story isn't mine to tell - come to SESF '07 and I'm sure the beer will do the talking!

I have a 22k original mile 1985 M635 .I bought it from the estate pf the original owner who put on all of the miles in the 80s. One owner all documents including factory order paperwork. All keys, manuals,no paintwork and never spent a night outdoors. The car is Karmin red with dark tan (non buffalo) interior. Its just beautiful, anyone have a guess at the value? The forum won't allow me to post a link to the photos. I have other M635s but none as perfect as this museum piece.

The car looks great but why would anyone not drive a machine that is meant to be driven... Pitty, no garage queen for me... I have 41K+ on both my 650 and 750... And I am going to keep on Ridin'.
