Price range: $14k and under. Will work out price depending on KBB.
Let me know SOON since I will be heading back to Iowa tomorrow! If you have something close to Iowa as well when I get back, we could arrange some weekend to come see it probably.

Heh, good luck. I am 2 hours west of Kansas City and can't find crap... However, I did find a nice 1995 325i with 132,000 miles for $3,500 in the Kansas City Star classifides, not that you'd be interested in that, but point being check the papers if you have trouble finding anything...

Thanks. Yeah this sucks, lol. I test drove a 98 528i black on black, with 68k miles and it was a 5spd. It had m5 rims. It was nice however he wanted $2k over book value and the front bumper was definately repainted (crappy, you could see the dry spots on the passenger side under headlight) and a touchup spot in the rear. Other than that it was great.
That was my first time driving a BMW that was manual and I liked it. I'll just wait it out for the perfect one.

There is quite a bit for sale, just need to know where to look. Go south toward the Overland Park area, maybe a 20 min drive from Downtown. I get BMWs every day through work, and a couple have been for sale, including a '99 M3. Perfect shape, just go south around Olathe/OP/Lenexa. :)

Hmm, I've been searching EVERYWHERE for a cheaper E36, but cannot find anything... I know Kansas City probably has the best selection, I just need to look harder, and save more $$$. That 5-series sounds nice, but thats the same problem with me, price, so we both have to wait for the perfect one. Unfortunately people mark up E36s outrageously it seems...

I'm back in Iowa now. However, if there is one in the Kansas City area, I would probably go back up for sure.
Lawn Dart,
I didn't come to Kansas City to just test drive this 528i. I came with my family for Fathers Day. I looked up what was on my way and saw this black on black 528i. So I really had zero time to go about looking for other cars for sale in the area. Otherwise if I saw your post and I had time I probably would of checked out more of Kansas City and the locations you were talking about. BTW, you get them through work and ONLY some are for sale? Where do you work? Maybe we could talk further for you to maybe look out for a car for me? Hit me up on AIM sometime man.
GIJF430,
Yeah I've noticed the ones I've been looking up in the area of Kansas City, mostly every single one that I would seriously buy were overpriced. Some were like amazingly over priced. Also, the 5-series I drove was pretty nice besides the few little blemishes and so fourth. It drove nice, but they guy wouldn't budge at all really. I don't like to buy over the value of the car for something that I know isn't worth it. I know you can't use the value of cars for everything, such as more rare cars but 5-series are far from that. I just can't find one I want, lol. Let me know if you find what you want!

Yeah, I really try and push toward Kelly Blue Book values. I test drove a 1993 BMW 325i a couple months ago, and I loved it, 5-speed, met my criteria. However it was Black, and there was an immence amount of scratches ALL OVER the body. Clearly more than fair share wear and tear. He is a lawyer and pushed firm on $4,000, even though KBB said $2,500 in GOOD condition for a 187,000 mile car, so I backed off. In time, we will all find our right Bimmer, there is one for all of us, at least thats what I keep saying to myself.
