How can I test to see if my clutch is slipping or bad?

Floor it in each gear and shift just before redline. pretend you're drag racing, shifting as quick as you possibly can. when you shift, if the clutch doesn't grab the gears right away, and the motor takes too long with rpms decreasing to catch the next gear [maybe a couple seconds], then your clutch is slipping. I hope that makes sense :conf:

Another trick: Find an uphill stretch where you can maintain speed in a higher gear. Leaving the car in gear and your foot on the gas, 'pop' the clutch for half a second, the revs will shoot up, then drop right back down to where they were. If the revs drop slowly then your clutch is done.

Away from everyone in a parking lot or such, rev the engine to 2K rpm and hold it there while while dropping the clutch with the car in 2nd gear. If the engine dies the clutch is probably OK. If it keeps slipping then the clutch is worn. I hope your engine dies :D
