Yeah that would be great. Looks very nice. What condition was it in when you got it?? Price if you dont mind?

Bry

My car was in pretty good condition when I got it. I had to put a lot of work into the paint (I need to do another waxing actually) and I've cleaned up the interior quite a bit. My drivers seat was basically ruined. It was unstapled, all of the springs were ruined, the leather was cracked and in really bad condition, and I had a hole in the bolster. I still need to replace my very worn shift knob.

The motor was in very good condition, of course now I have a rebuilt head, so it is in very good condition. The suspension was some off-brand and it needed some work, and I am still trying to replace all the rubber parts, and bushings.

Thanks Kev for the pictures, they look great. I love seeing track pictures. I like how you have your inside wheel lifted on one of them.

Well, mine aren't very recent.. the hood and mirrors are gone in exchange for stock hood, and vented white mirrors. Hamanns are now stacked in the basement, replaced by 17" SSR Comps.. and 13" E46 M3 brakes will be on next week as well! Oh yeah, and new revised AA software, fan delete, new exhaust manifolds, and custom UUC M50/E30 SSK!

Isn't that an S52?

99M3
12-22-2002, 03:12 PM
Nah.. those are S50..
The S52 has smaller intake manifold, and the oil cap is at the front of the engine.

Some day I'm going to own a mint-conditioned E30 M3 :-)

zenon
12-22-2002, 06:52 PM
I'm new to this S50 engine code too, but from what I understand it's what the rest of the world got when BMW made a US spec 3.2

S52's are OBDII guys, my motor is an S50 (which is an OBDI 3.0L) that has been built to a 3.2L with the S52 crankshaft, etc.

Steve, you need to move that battery to the trunk! That will greatly play to your advantage concerning weight distribution! And nothing cleans up the swap like M3 firewall covers :)

JamesM3M5
12-27-2002, 09:34 AM
Alex, what tranny did you use in your swap? 325 or M3 tranny?

steve k.
12-27-2002, 01:59 PM
Alex,
battery move is one of the upcoming projects. Just picked up the car a week and a half ago. Hmm, different firewall covers. The should go on the list of things to do. Suspension is #1 priority right now.

steve k. :buttrock

battery in the trunk on my 2002. Stock it sits on drivers side in front of the front wheel. Great location :)

Alex,
did you get your tach to work properly? The PO for my car sais that it is off. When it shows 4000rpm it is actually only at 3000rpm. Something about the revolutions being fed through a computer before getting to the tach. Any ideas?

steve k.

Alex McHenry
01-03-2003, 01:58 AM
My tach works fine.. its a M3 cluster with a 6 cylinder coding plug, with a 7k tach card.

My tranny is an E36 M3 ZF unit.. Sachs race clutch/pressure plate.. AA flywheel.

steve k.
01-06-2003, 08:33 PM
Alex,
can you give me a brife explanation of which coding plug you are talking about. I am new to the modefied computerized cars. 2002s don't have any of this fun stuff.

Call me a crazy nut, but I like the stock rearview mirrors better...

Oddjob
01-16-2003, 12:57 PM
I liked the stock mirrors better until I saw these in person ( they were on a VW Scirroco) and they were awesome!

I wonder if it's possible to make a rear view mirror that is on the inside of the door glass instead of the outside to reduce drag entirely. It would just have to face a sharper angle...

mark91
01-17-2003, 02:28 AM
Hey Steve.....you can use the stock m3 tach and just swap the plug in the front of the cluster with one from a 325....it is the white plug I believe on the bottom right of the dash pod...
mark

ps...took me forever to get mine working.....
