Quik story... I was at Advance Auto, getting some stuff for the 30 and this guy was asking about an o2 sensor for his bmw. I told him about the shop I take mine to, Treehouse, and then went outside. Oxfordgrun 5er with a stick... hmmm... check out the back and O-sh!t 540i which can only mean it is a six spd. I go back inside just as he is comming out and talk with him a bit, he's had it for 2+ years, it has a Dinan chip and runs great. So I mention that IF he ever decides to sell to give me a call, OH WAIT what's this, "I looking to sell it, I'm a little tired of shifting and want a newer 7 sereies." That was a week and ahalf ago, I had been keeping in touch, picked up the car Thursday night and will give it back Saturday morning. Had a pre-buyers inspection done on it, new cats, new front valance w/ new fogs (shop said minor damage was the cause - 10-15mph), new winshield (the guy - bmw mechanic- he bought it from said it got hit on the highway, no other damage.), new brakes all around, new tires, interior is 8.5-9/10, exterior is same scale, new guibo and center bearing... Top 10% 5er.

Downside - Back windows stick occasoinally, cruise in-op, minor rust on parts of the last 3rd of the exhaust, minor rust around the shocks, **Nikasil Block with 103k**. Go for the test drive with the shop owner, and says that every thing is running as it should or better. Not all the Nikasil blocks got eaten up by our gas, and this one hasn't missed a beat, if I don't buy it he wants it, safe to say that is a GO from the shop.

the rear window regulators took a crap on my 92 525i as well, replace the sliders before the regulators destroy themselves
