Hi guys I have heard people talking about 540i six cylinders but I thought the highest BMW ever made the inline six was 3.5 litres.

If it does exist in 6cylinder version (not V8), what year was it made?

Are you talking about when people say 540i/6?

That is a reference to the fact that it is a manual, six speed, not the engine type. Of course, it is rather redundant, as the 540 has never had a manual with any less than 6 foreward gears.

Not quite. The SA 745s actually have S38s, not M104s (I think that is the right designation for the turbo M30, anyway) It is everywhere else that the 745 had the turbo M30.
