OK the next serious mod for me will be sways then springs.

What sway bars do you recommend ( I looked at the UUC
tubulars but they are $650, don't want to spend that much
on sways).

I want something to get rid of all the body lean and roll. That's sooo annoying to me. I want my car to corner flatter.

Racing dynamics adjustable sways.. no doubt.. :)

But all of them are so close and all within a few mm of each other.. doesnt really matter.. just get the one u find cheapest.

But otherwise..

RD.. :D

the AC Schnitzer and Eibach bars are one and the same (eibachs are cheaper, of course), and slightly larger in back and smaller in front than the RD units. small differences do matter quite a bit. Look up the torsion spring equation, you'll see why.

I've had the eibach 26/24's for 8 months or so. Running still front and rear. I really like the balance right now, although next autocross i am going to try setting the front bar on soft. At still f/r you will notice a lot of low speed push.

I ordered them from shox.com. They were in shipped directly from eibach the next day for a total of $330.

Anybody know if Racing Dynamics and RD sways are the same? Fairly large price difference. I'm going to get one or the other. Thanks - Jay

Thanks jww. I had never heard of shox.com (good name though).

Is $350 a good price for Eibach sways?

Yeah. i know a mm is a pretty big difference in strenght and stiffness on sway bars.. but its something u will barely notice going from one sway to another.

Eibachs are cheapest, but not adjustable.. but that doesnt really mean much.. I set my RDs to hard/hard (F/R) and never touches them again.

Eibachs u can get cheaper at SPP.. I remember eric telling me something like $315 for eibachs. Dont quote me on this but i know it was cheaper than $350.

RD is short for Racing dynamics ... :)

Picked up my Eibach bars a few weeks ago from Eric @ SPP, they're going for $350 and are adjustable (front and rear).

So how bad of an install is the set? I remember some of you guys saying that the front wasnt too bad, but that the rear's was a pain.

I didn't think it was that bad. Probably took me four hours or so for the front and rear. The rear is a PITA since you have to align it side to side, check for clearance, and tighen the bolts for the links and brackets at the same time. It really helps to have two sets of hands for the rear bar install. Another PITA about the rear bar is getting the POS stock brackets back into their shitty holders. This will take some manuvering.

Overall, not that bad. Just remember to wrap the area on the bars where the bushings ride with teflon tape. Otherwise the supplied lube will wear off in about a month and they will squeal.

Just got a quote from Shox.

Sway Bars -- Eibach kit F&R $319.00 26mm / 24mm, Adjustable front and rear.

Sounds like a good price. What size are the stock M3 sways?

I've got Eibach sways and they work great. i believe stock M3 bars are 23mm F and 20mm R for 96-99 and 22.5mm F and 19mm R for 95's.
good luck on your decision.

oopps.. the price I remember was for my 328.. not a M3.. sorry guys. But thats shox price is great.!

The rears are a pain.. took me a while to finish up.. helps to unbolt the muffler this way u can have more room above the exhaust piping to manuver the sway bar.
