WTF a WFD SRT4 got you out of the hole?

Ahhh...j/k ;) .

None the less good runs. BTW what were the times for the other two Mustanks.

Can you post your time slips?

I posted the majority of the info in my two prior threads. I wasn't launching due to being 250miles from home. I didnt want to break a diff bolt that far away. Im not sure how easy they are to break and I didnt want to have to deal with that. Especially since the next day was the AutoX event. I was just taking off slow in 1st and then gunning it. Was also on 18" street tires.

The time slips were posted on my other thread also as well as my competition.

Great actually!! The powerband was spot on even with a GT3582R. Mine does spool alot lower than most others posted. I think its due to my manifold. The only problem was dealing with a clutch problem (not bled well and couldnt shift at all at times) and the stock sways werent up to the task. I also pulled my shift knob off twice the first run, once the second run, twice the 3rd and 3 times the 4th run!! :( I even took off my driving gloves cuz I thought they were making me stick. Nope.......I need a new knob with retainer screws.

I pretty much got excuses a mile long. Chose which one you'd like. :stickoutt

Jim (Shuasha) on the otherhand friggin owned in his TT2 M3/4. Hes got lots of good recent track experience under his belt, a clutch that actually allows him to shift and that car is friggin built to the hilt for road racing!! Not to mention hes an awesome driver!

He's got in-car videos of his runs. I hope he posts them!!

Mach1.....Cobra.....eh. Theyre all the same to me.

The first one was a SC Cobra. He was on the highway chasing us down leaving the strip heading back to the hotel. I get them all confused.

Don't you want the window down for safety purposes? I know they require em down on HPDEs....

Well regardless, care to explain why? I know on the track if you get into an accident its good to have em down if they have to pull you out, etc. Why not on a 1/4 track? Is it dangerous to have it down per say?

Not sure about the actual rules, but most tracks in PA and NJ that i have been to have everyone roll up their windows if they are not.

Also, a driver going for the best 1/4 mile time wont want a window down, as it would not be very aerodynamic friendly.

Autox on the other hand, i believe you may have your windows down.

MrBlonde chime in on this?

For drag you have to have the windows up because of possible flying debris. On Autox you are by yourself and you don't want to overheat.

Very good setup you got Brian...if you was on drag radials man you would've pulled that MACH1 mustang out of the hole all the way but i noticed once you got full turbo spool you really pulled on him hard...Actually modded Mach 1 vs modded 03/04 SVT CObra will be a difference actually. modded 03/04 SVT Cobra will give you a huge run for your money.

:lol YEa the MAch 1 is a N/a Motor, i'm sure the highway runs are alot more fun for ya. Get that diff checked out and lets see some low 12's high 11's.:D

you beat a supercharged mustang that ran more than a 13.5 what was wrong with it?
hell a supercharged normal GT mustang with nothing else done and a mediocre driver should run a 13.00.

I would be more worried about motor mounts than diff bolts on a sticky track. I snapped both mine at Quaker in the M3. The Diff bolt held up nicely.

I would get some kind of diff support right away. I have bent 3 bolts, and have torn off Mike Radowski's diff fix when the 3rd bolt broke. Granted it could have been the welding job with only two sides of the diff fix welded on, but, it actually torn pieces off the diff.

I got the AA support bracket, and IMO was worth every penny from a quality standpoint.

Mike sells his diff fix kits with a really long bolt that is worth the price he asks for his kits alone.

Brian, this summer is going to be a long one, and these cars will run fast.

The first stang was a whipple charged cobra and ran a high 12. Bare in mind we were all on street tires due to the event. You had to run the same tires friday and saturday; at the strip, autoX, skid pad, etc. If he had stickies, it would have been very different. Cobra + whipple + 16psi + street tires = wheelspin.

All in all I was happy with the time. Especially since when asked the night before by tom, what I think Id run; I said a 13.1. And my last back to back runs were 13.1xx. :)

Mikes fix is a good fix and the price is spot on! But I dont want to weld to my diff housing. Jim's got the AA mount and Im copying it. I can make it for like $20 so thats a no brainer pretty much.

And Dave, I agree with you 100% man.

ignorance is great isnt it? A "Stock" 13 second mustang shouldnt be a problem huh? Couldnt see the full time of the mach, and the other stang didnt show it either. Ty trBo328iKevo for your post.

Why even bother to go the track if your coming out of the hole like that? You have a fast car, a modded car. See what its got. Drive it like its meant to be. Breakin stuff is part of the game, something breaks time to upgrade.

1) Im still breaking in the motor. Its got 1012 miles on it after the 250mile drive back. I don't know many people thatll take their new $14,000 creation to a 2 day event and beat the hell out of it.

2) This is my first BMW and everyone speaks of a broken diff bolt and how easy they are to break. Granted I am fully able to replace something like that 250miles from home but with a full day left to follow on Saturday, why chance it? The event was high trap speed, not ET so I would have gained little from a hard launch. MAYBE 4-8MPH but on a team with lots of modded AWD cars......beating my car to death wasn't required.

3) Im not sure if your bashing me here as I cannot really understand where you are going. I say this though. I don't like mustangs but I DO respect them for what they are; 100%. I am also not known for being "nice" to my cars. Though after 8 months of work where I custom fabbed nearly everything and did ALL of the work myself. Countless hours and hours and never going out and having fun. Im not gonna destroy it after literally having it on the road 6 days. This is a fun racing machine. Not something to destroy. I know its capable of; not really "new" to this kinda thing.

Why even bother??.............to have fun.

Thats why we're all here. If I wanted to break records, I wouldn't be building the car I did. I would have a 1967 Deuce drinking methanol with a single Y2K blowing through a 407 reving to 8200, .610 lift cam, triangulated 4-link and be seated in a kirkey.
