Ok, so I uninstalled my powerdyne blower from my 98 M3 to get it rebuilt. I remapped tubing, MAF, and CAI back into the main intake of the engine. It has been running fine without the supercharger on it for about a week now. No CEL or anything?? All of a sudden I am coming home today and the CEL comes on with the following code:

P1189 - Fuel Control (Bank 2 Sensor 1),

and also did a bf.c search and found this from a bf.c members website......

<TABLE width="95%" bgColor=#ffffff><TBODY><TR><TD>SAE Code <TD>P1189 <TR><TD>DTC Code <TD>17597 <TR><TD>Description <TD>Linear 02 Sensor / Compensator Resistor Short to B+

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Does anyone know if this is a problem??? Can I keep driving the car until the rebuild is done. The car still runs fine and is not overheating, running rich, hesitating or anything????:help I don't want to clear the code b/c I know that something isn't right, just wondering if it could make it a few more weeks?? Please help!!!

Clear the code, drive the car and see if the code comes back. You won'thurt anything.

Clear the code after the supercharger install or now?? I'm still running with no s/c because of the rebuild. If it comes back, any idea what that means?

Cleared the code just a second ago....not sure if it will come back or not...I verified again that the code was indeed P1189. Any idea what is causing this?

Drive it for 2 drive cycles (trips with hwy and city driving 20 miles or so) and see if it comes back on. if it does it is more than likely a bad O2 sensor but it may be a O2 sensor wire shorted to ground.

Drove it around all night last night and the CEL never came back on.....isn't a bad O2 sensor a different code?
