I need a hitch for my 90 325i coupe. I'd prefer the receiver style, so the ball mount can be removed. I hear that style only works with the diving board bumpers, but lets hear what you got.

DaLan makes a hitch for it...not a receiver style...http://www.hitch-web.com/hwimage.asp?tgs=3azyitz55%2Fpsegly3dh857978%2Enoj

I've seen that one.
I was hoping someone made the receiver style for the plastic bumper cars.
Thanks for the reply.

I *think* Da'Lan used to make both types for the later (plastic bumper) cars, but it seems that the only one they sell now is the fixed mount type (aka- "shin-buster").

Alternatively, you could just buy a fixed mount type and have a 1-1/4" square tube welded to it and make your own. :)

Yea, I guess I could do that. I would have to cut off the fixed bar flush with the bumper, and source the square tube. They make just those tubes for custom hitches right? I'm trying to avoid any shin busting if possible.

I've seen your posts on r3v, have you done this before?

Are you still looking for a hitch for a plastic bumper E30?

I've actually done something similar to your pic there. Except I welded the square tube on TOP of the flat bar, Seems better since the hitch could use as much height as possible.
I post a pic if you like.
Thanks for the reply though.
