What is considered a demo?

This past Saturday I went to test drive a 03 325i...They have a 02 325i sitting on the lot so they let me drive that instead.

The car has about 90 miles on it and I asked the salesperson whether this car should be considered as a demo since "I am test driving it now" and obviously more people have had before also.

The salesperson told me it should still be "new"...does that make sense???

I am sure if I really wanted to buy that car (an 02 test-driving/demo car), I can get a big discount on that... :)

If the salesperson let you drive it, I wouldn't call it new anymore. Most people drive the shit out of the test-drive car to see the true potential. It definitely did not go through a proper break-in period.
