I need a few parts for my car that are only available at the dealer. Bimmerparts doesn't carry them either.
Is there a reputable dealer in the SF Bay Area for reasonably priced parts? Preferably somewhere between Pleasanton & Mountain View.
Thanks,
Pete

Decent prices will be at Concord BMW and *maybe* at Peter Pan.
The others are very expensive.
I'd recommend however, that you look at PacificBMW on the web and CircleBMW - internet/mail order, but they will have what you need.

Double02 Salvage in Hayward sells new parts for somewhat reasonable prices. Peter Pan (San Mateo) won't give you the 20% BMWCCA discount if you are local :( Clairidge will give 15% for BMWCCA, but I am pretty sure that they jack the prices 10% *over* retail.
I think your best bet is to try Pacific as Matt suggests. They ship pretty quickly, and have very good prices.
Good luck!

I you are BMWCCA member. Claridge has pretty good prices on OEM parts.

Last time I was there, Claridge wanted a premium for their parts. You might want to try Weatherford, Peter Pan, or Steven's Creek instead. In fact, just get the part number and start calling the parts departments of all the bay area BMW dealers - you'll get a pretty good idea of who is expensive and who's reasonable...
Lately, though, I've been buying all my new BMW parts through Double 02 Salvage. Good people who usually know what they're doing. Good prices, too.

Stevens Creek's where I usually go too. I've been able to negotiate prices with them to some extent. Not necessarily to Pacific BMW's low prices, but it beats waiting when the car's already taken apart... :mechstuck

All the bmw places I go to (Stevens Creak and Allison BMW) only give 10% discount with the BMWCCA card

Depends on the place. Just take a look in the back of the Bombe - it has a list of places and the discounts they offer. But be aware - the amount of discount is off the "normal" price, which varies between places. So, a place may give you 20% off, but if they normally charge list + 30%, you'll still get screwed. Your best bet if it's an expensive part is still to call around and get prices from various places. A while ago, when I was looking for a replacement fog light, the quotes I got ranged from 60 bucks to 110. Even though the place that quoted me 110 was offering a 20% BMW CCA discount, it still was a ripoff...
Looking at the list, I just remembered Stanford European - they seem to have fairly good prices, also. Might want to give them a call if you're looking for parts...
