Hello everyone.

I've been working on a M30 swap for my E9, and it is virtually finished, but the motor seems to be down on power. I have driven an E34 535, and it is faster than the E9 currently is, so something is amiss. It has a new O2 sensor, so that is not it. Any hints? (no cats, so not clogged cats)

Based on the Bently manual, it suggests the lack of power could be fuel related, (possible, but doubtful) or sensor/DME related. I think the DME works fine, as the motor fires up without hesitation and even ran pretty well with no O2 sensor for a while. That leaves some random sensor hampering my power. Bently suggests it is the TPS, so the engine is not getting proper throttle position information. Cooling is good, and I do not think I have any intake leaks.

Thanks.

I believe the cam sensor may be your best bet. Hope things work out.

Cam sensor? Do you mean the crankshaft position sensor, or something else? It has the fuel injection system from a 1991 735 (same as the one on the 535) so it is Motronic 1.3 with the toothed harmonic balancer and whatnot.

How about the fuel injectors? IIRC those can be problematic on those engines.

Did you try hooking up a fuel pressure gauge? How about the fuel pressure regulator?

some ideas.

Since you didnt mention I'm assuming its NA, but you're probably planning on turbo, right.

The FPR is functioning normally. The injectors could probably use a good cleaning. As soon as I fill it up, I'll put in some cleaner.

Yes, the car is currently NA. However, I have drawn up some AutoCAD drawings for a twin screw supercharger system, though...:devillook
