As I have mentioned in other post, I am in the process of searching for parts for a damaged 2006 530I that I bought. I need :
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Front Left Fender
Driver Side Curtain Airbag
Driver’s Door Airbag (Dakota Beige)
Driver’s Side Mirror
Driver’s Side Door Handle
Battery Safety Device
Driver’s seat belt (Dakota Beige)
Driver’s and Left Passenger side Windows

While looking for the parts on the net, I came across photos of two crashed M5’s. Very sad. My first thought was what a waste of two fine cars. Then I realized that there had been people in the cars and my thought turned to them. I hope they walked away…and then ordered up new M5’s!!:)

Oh yeah...here is a photo of the 530I I am repairing. Doesn't look too bad after looking at the M5's.

Someone on here a while back posted pics of the M5 he had wrecked, then it got sketchy because his story kept changing. Interesting to know if it was true or not. That 530 looks like a pretty good project. Are those the side airbags hanging down?

good luck on your parts hunt! a good link you may not have visited: www.realoem.com (part numbers/diagrams) if all else fails your local dealership can get you anything with a part number.

onewhippedpuppy...that is indeed the curtain airbag.

e39dream....thanks for the info on realoem. I'll call them Monday. Some of the parts will have to be bought new.

Hey, it looks like the M5 emblem and exhaust tips might be salvagable from the second car!!!

It's reassuring to note that given the amount of damage on that M5 that the cabin geometry is fairly intact.

I'l bet the guy with the sketchy story got scared because he realised that the insurance folks might be watching the fourms.

Yes that is exactly what I look for when I see wreck pics. Although it is a shame, but not all of these cars are victims of driving accidents. I once saw a Lambo get taken out by drunk driver while parked in front of a restaurant.

You can see all kind of stuff on Copart. I have seen a few Subaru’s and Hondas torn down in half … Not a pleasant pictures…
