I'll let you know when I get dyno'ed. It won't be tomorrow but should be in a couple weeks.
BTW..
1996 328i
RMS / Vortech SQ2
9-10 psi
lowered compression via headgasket and arp head studs
S50 cams
m50 mani
water/ alky injection
UUC System U exhaust

Thats probably 300 and over.
I havent dynoed yet. I have the manifold and UUC System U exhaust as well. Just picked up some S52 cams. Still need headers, aftercooler, midpipe, 12psi, and of course Mr Nick G's and George's tuning. :buttrock

Yeah I'm also looking for an aftercooler, 12psi and possibly a euro hfm or even a 996 hfm. As far as current horsepower I'm not really sure since I haven't hit the dyno. I do have some vids of my car at the drag strip though, one real good one of me beating an 2002 m5!! Let me know how it goes with your tuning. Are you making the trip to Ct or are you doing it remotely? I've been putting off the tuning for so long, trying to get everything I want done before hand. Now that I'm getting to the end of the road as far as mods go I have been thinking about making the trip to ICS to finish it off.

My plan is to get everything, install it, then ship it to ICS. Already spoke to George and he told me what to do to make 380-400rwhp, and thats my plan. I have the idea of standalone, but I dont know yet.

what about the m52 with a vf kit instead of the vortech kit?

VFE uses the same Vortech blower that is used in the RMS and Dinan kits.

I have the following:
95 M3 (so OBDI)
M52 motor
RMS vortech SC
Upgraded injectors (think 32lbs)
AA software
Supersprint exhaust
Euro HFM
Dyno'd 330rwhp at Evosport in Huntington Beach, CA
I also have a 3.45 diff/ltw flywheel which doesn't effect the hp tho...car is a blast/torque monster.

but im guessing the software is different. can the same hp numbers be had or will it vary drastically due to the different software?

why is there an M52 motor in your M3? not knocking just asking.

Peter,
I was only pointing out that Vortech did not make a kit but most aftermarket s/c kits use the vortech blower (with the exception of AA and early Dinan kits). As far as the software goes, it can make a huge difference. If your software causes your car to run too lean you run the risk of a meltdown. If your software causes your car to run to rich your performance will suffer. But with the combination of proper software and good hardware I am convinced that s/c'd m52 engines can put down decent hp/ tq numbers

hey man...lol my names chris. lol the pic has the name peter in it because thats my buddy that took the pics. lol.
not trying to hi jack this thread, but i got an m50 non v and i want to s/c it. but after seeing some dyno sheets and this thread, looks like a s/c m52 with some bolt ons makes around 350ish with good torque. and thats the hp range i wana be at.
the reason why i ask about the vfe kit is because its affordable, unlike the other 8g's s/c kits. am i headed in the right direction?

yea i think the vf kit is a great deal for a new kit. I wonder what kind of power they make on the m52's. S50's are making over 300rwhp.

i would think alittle over 300 with s50 cams, m50 mani, headers, and exausht and maybe bigger injectors. but i could be wrong.

Well i did see a rms kitted m52 car make 321rwhp without cams, but that motor soon after said bye bye thanks to there great tuning.

Hm...that's odd, i wonder how the block just went kaboom with RMS supercharger, RMS makes the best supercharger kits i would think. Thing about them is they're very pricey but well worth paying if you wanna put down the numbers just like a turbo kit hehe. But i've seen quite a few turboed M3's putting about 350-380+rwhp on stock block but it all depends on how you take care of your car & all..

Whats odd is your response.. No offense, but are you really so naive that you arent aware of the dozens of Supercharger and former supercharger owners on this forum who suffered the exact same fate? To make such a comment on this forum is like waving a red flag in front of a bull.

Sorry to bring up this older thread, but why does that guy have an M52 in an M3? Also maybe some of you guys dynoed by now or sumthing?

I can only assume he means S52 since M3s dont come with the M52 engine designation..
>>What kind of power can be had on a m52 motor with a vortech kit? >>
Alot of us have chronicled the results of various power upgrades with posted dyno charts. In my case, briefly, the upgrades and results went something like this:
1) Dinan Software, boost bump from an out of the box 8 psi to 11 psi and water injection only: Dynojet result: ~315 whp
2) Same, but with various software improvement attempts: to 325 whp
3) Same but Aftercooler added: 338 whp
4) Added: 3.5" hfm, 3.5" diameter intake piping, Larger Injectors, Custom Tuning developed by Technique Tuning (nick g): 367 whp.
To get to ~400 whp, add Obd1 intake manifold, and if needed, cat removal.
