Would it in any way hurt my car, if I switch out the ECUs with another TI.

Please be specific, for what should I look for, if there could be any problems.

This is a timely matter. I want to get this deal, before it's over.

Thanks

If its an automatic ECU from an OBD-1 ti it wont hurt.

Just out of curiosity why are you changing ECUs. Did you get a Euro Spec on or something?

I want to get the chip, and there's a person selling a Chip already installed in his ECU (but I think his is manual tranny).

So we would just exchange the ECUs.

Is there a difference between Manual and Auto (chip's wise)?

What if he takes the chip off his ECU and sends me just the chip?

My avatar: my buddy from England send me a pic of himself with Hooters girls, so I cropped it (him out of it :D ), and made me the Avatar :)

I dont think switching the chip will work either. I think chips are different for manual and automatic. I think a chip for an auto just kicks the shift points up a little but a manual chip will boost redline and compensate with fuel because there are no shift points. So I am like 80% sure it wont work.

I think you're right. I don't think neither the chip nor the ECU will work. That sucks though, it sounds like a good deal!

thanks. :(

Well at least I didn't rush into buying, and then would've been sitting with a part, that doesn't work. Now I can spend this money on smth. else :)
