Hello to everyone on bimmer forums. i got my car about a month ago and i have a couple question. i have a 96 328i

1. after i turn the car off. there is a metal ticking sound coming from the front end. anyone know what that might be?
2. has anyone ever smoked their own tail lights? is it a good idea or is it better if i buy smoked ones? i anctually just want the turn signal and reverse light parts smoked.
3. i need to buy some touch up paint but dont know if my car is calypso red or cordoba red. does anyone know what the stock maroonish color is for my year?

thanks to those who choose to answer!!!

1. The noise is normal from what i know. When metal heats up it expands (exhaust in paticular) and when you turn off the engine it contracts. I think this is what your hearing.

2. You can buy transparent smoke paint at any craft store. Its made by Krylon, and made specifically for staind glass i think. Ive seen people smoke tailights before and it didnt look too bad. I dont have any pics, but i would personally probably buy smoked ones just to keep the old ones in case you want to put the car back to stock.

3. Sorry i dunno =0/

1. like guy above said, i also think you're just hearing the exhaust cool off
2. yes, many people have, try and search when it's up
3. you can find the paint code under the hood next to your airbox, i'm not sure what color you have though

anything else ?
