Cliff-notes: Raced a Celica GT-S and a Sentra Spec-V, close races (auto and dead VANOS solenoid FTL), but pulled on them above 65.
So, I'm driving down Riverside when I see this Celica with a body kit on it in my rear-view. Turns out to be a GT-S, and it had a TRD front plate, so he may have had some stuff done. We pull up to a light and take off, and I don't think he got a very good launch, cause I pulled away really quick- and I'm an auto (FTL, I know) and I need to replace my VANOS solenoid. Feels like I have no tq at all down low. We did a couple runs from 40 up to about 70, but cops were all over, so they didn't last long. On one run he started to pull on me, so if we'd had more road and fewer officers of the law, it might have been close. I'll take the win from the light, though. He wanted to go somewhere else, but I had to turn off onto 71st. At the light I see a Sentra SE-R Spec-V take off through the intersection, so I caught up to him once I had the green. We raced from nearly every light (and there's quite a few on 71st between Memorial and Riverside), and he kept up pretty well. It was even up til about 65, then I'd start to pull away. Nice couple 'a guys, no ricer fly-by, and they gave props to the bimmer. They thought I had Brembo brakes, though..? Fun runs either way, we parted with the thumbs up. Two races in one evening! I'm hard-pressed to find anything at all in Tulsa most of the time. Except for the new Mustang GT who completely ate my lunch not too long ago... We pulled over and talked for a while, he was a nice stang owner. I must say, his exhaust sounded mmmmmtasty..
