i actually have a story about racing for pinks. this happened about 4-5wks ago. it was a nice sunday morning, and i was driving over to best buy to get my digital camera repaired. i was in the gti just cruising when some dad in a ford focus station wagon, with his two teenage sons, gets behind me @ a stop sign and starts to rev his engine. hhahaha, i just took off normally, but i heard him drop the clutch and take off after me.

the road we were on was windy and i lost him w/o a problem, but i ended up turning on a busier two lane. i stopped @ a light down the road, and he pulls up next to me and asks me, "u wanna race for pinks?". this guy is in his 40's, in a focus wagon, and he wants to race me...for pinks!?!?! i said sure, and pulled a solid 2-3 bus lengths by the time i topped out 2nd. i slowed down and waited for him to catch up so i could get my pink slip...unfortunatley, he said he was just kidding, and tried to take off and lose me.

i'm still looking for a rematch.

i live in the DC metro area and there are soo many cats that will only race for money. i finally got a few of them to race me and beat the piss outta them!!!

i figured that i would get beat cause they would only race for money, but i was wrong.

how it happened was i convinced one of them to race me for fun and the rest just followed( just like in the slow and mildly agitated). after i beat the absolute piss out of him then another one was like " ok you need to lose". he raced me and i beat him worse then the fella before!!

now to some of their defenses i do have a carbon fiber hood and clear corners which gave me at least 4 cls and i wasn't even double clutching!!

p.s. double clutching has absolutely nothing to do with racing in a straight line.

I had a 77 Trans Am with a built 455 and was approached to race for pinks. I told the guy I would race for the blue book value of my car, $3,500. I showed him the cash and he changed his mind. He did ask why I would race for cash and not pinks. I told him that I had to much time into the car to lose it by busting a $30 U-joint (which I did tuning the engine). Should have run him for pinks as my ex-wife wrapped it around a utility pole the very next week. :(
