Just having some fun with photoshop in these shots I took a few hours ago. Sorry for the crazy post-processed blur in this first pic. I went crazy :astromile The rest are pretty conservative.

The car is very dirty, it has been rained on several times, but I didnt let that stop me from snapping a few shots. Sorry.

Thanks. I prefer stock gauges with chrome bezels actually.. Just a hassle! My cluster came with different miles on it too, rather annoying.

Camera is just a Canon 300D (digital rebel), very nice for the money. I even shot with the kit lens, nice and wide aspect! I am perpetually learning more about it..

Next time when it is clean.. The car was so dirty that without the high contrast, you would see nothing but dirt. :(

Thanks.. and I use to have no front license plate.. but here in minnesota, some rural state troopers find it extremely offensive. It's illegal to not have one, but metro cops don't care.. I got 4 tickets for it everytime I left the metro area. Said F-it one night and screwed it in to the bumper :rofl At least the license plate is cool :dunno

I dont think its that crazy at all. infact you could have gone more. see my sig? you could have even converted it to B and w like that. mines a Gaussian blur. I think shots of cars generally look good just like that qute often.

I think the problem is, if your going to blur it like that, you should have cropped out some of the backround. because while that backround is pretty good, its not too important compaired to the car, and with the composition you have, the big backround, I dont think, helps it, and the blur just adds to the backround making the whole thing more bland..

but what do I know, im just talking out my ass, sorry :rolleyes :)

:buttrock It is from TMS... last one broke and they offered that one. It is blue/green indiglo backlit with a rheostat which varies the level of brightness. I wish I had E46 M3 gauges. :( I like the grey with chrome bezels.. this is about as close as I can get though.

oops missed that. I just selected whatever I did not want to be blurred with the lasso tool, magnetic this time. Then created a new layer of the selected background.

With the background layer selected, I did a lens blur filter effect. Did too much on that first shot, it is really easy to mess it up. Then a lot of touching up to get rid of the obvious lines. Takes a lot of time.. I usually give up really early.

Because when I look under the hood, it says arktisillber. I speak a little german and I try to get the vocabulary in use once in a while. if it makes you so angry, I guess I can stop.. :dunno
