Dillema: Which ones should I keep? The Fikse or the SSRs?

Custom polished 17" SSR Comps with 245/40/17 Front and 255/40/17 Rear These are the ONLY known polished SSR Comps I've ever seen or heard of. I paid $300 just to get the lips polished and then polished the rest of the rims myself. I easily spent 4-5 hours polishing each rim by hand (at least 20 hrs total), so I have a really high sentimental value with this rim! Originally, the wheel guy wanted $220 in labor to polish each rim so that's the reason I polished the rims myself.

I prefer the Fikses as they are better quality (less prone to bending) and better looking in my opinion.

Do you absolutely need to sell one of the sets? If not, why not keep them both a bit longer and then make a truly informed decision about which set you cant live without..

I still don't know yet. The tires on them are still good, but they're only 225/40s. Also, they're like 8/10 right now, but since they're a true 3 piece wheel, they would be really easy to take a part and have either the lips re-polished or the centers re-done another color. If I keep them, I was thinking of doing a darker gun metal color (instead of black) and re-polishing the lips to make everything look CHERRY. Now, that would be sick!

Why, are you insterested in them? The rims are really light for 18s and has rivets on the back side.

BTW, this is pretty slick too in all black....

Both are SICK wheels. I only voted SSR because the Fikse's have the black center. And although the black / polished lip looks awesome, I think it may go "out of style" as quickly as it came into style.

Silver has never gone out of style.

SSR Comps cause Silver>Black wheels IMO. Black with polished lip is a little better off than all black, so you're good there, but still all silver is better than the rest. Plus I like the look of the comps way better than the Fikses you have anyways.. :D

Easy, I'm going with the Profile 5's in race black some time in the near future. But I'm keeping my SSR's just to have a back up. I'd keep both.

It depends, if you take the Fikse's apart and refinish them so you can actually see the spokes, rather then an unattractive flat black mass in the middle of your wheel, go for those.

Otherwise, SSR.

Well, you could always get more Fikses (painted the same exact way from Fikse), but you actually cant buy new polished SSR comps. (he would have to throw in another 20hrs labor or so to get these back..)

I personally dont even really like the look of the polished SSRs, it is better than the anthracite, but maybe not as sweet the bright silver SSRs. That said, the Fikses just look better on your car, imho.

Wow, that speaks volumes. I had BBS CHs before and those were one of the best rims I've ever had. Quality wise, you really can't complain about BBS tho.

Yikes! That's a whole 'nother thread man! Every bimmer on here looks the same to me, so a lil' variety isn't nothing to frown on. The only place where I get crap for painted molding is on these forums--and even on here, it's a 50/50 split. Either way, I would rather praise some uniqueness rather than advocating the typical "lower, LTW, and clears." For me, it's all the whips doing 260WHP on NA, superchargers, and turbos that hit the spot for me...:eyecrazy

Anyways, I'm still not sure if I'm going to sell the rims or not. I'm taking da familia out to Hawaii next month and could use the extra cash for the vacation. My gf likes the Fikse. I like the SSRs. I guess we'll have to see which ones make it to the "For Sale" section later.

im starting to think thats why i voted against the fiske...just cuz of the moldings. if they were black then it would flow better with the rims. but the ssr's do look really good

the fiske are worth more and more rare, but im not a fan of that style, they "look" like the cheap ebay wheels, i guess im getting sick of the black/polished look, just getting to common, id keep the ssr's, you will get more for the fiske's also
