your Fastest top speed in stock 325I?

Hit 236kph or 141 mph yesterday in mine on flat ground have the vid to prove it but cant see gauges too clearly.

Im not sure exactly what the speed was because of speedo errors but speedo said like 145 mph. All I have is jim c chip.

i can talk either kph or mph no biggie for me been in germany for 1.5 years now so its easy to convert kphx6 then drop the last number and you get mph

141 is a nice top speed for a stock 325. All of us North American Owners can't see north of 128 MPH without modifying the electronics.

My non-vanos 92 felt better up top than my 95 vanos did.

yea mines a 93 euro spec and i think my vanos is dead but i was happy with 141 with the ac on too not to mention not that i go back to the video.

When you say stock do you mean stock except for a chip or what? In the US 325's are limited stock to around 130mph.

A 325 can go as fast as you want. They are geared from the factory with a 3.15 Differential. THe same as a 1995 M3. Which will alow it to run up to 160mph with a revlimit of 7000 rpms. So it is geared to go 160mph, the question is wether or not you have enough horsepower to get you there. With my 325is(mods listed in sig) I have gone 135mph, I did this before my intake and chip. As of know without cams and cam specific software I dought I could hit 160mph. So with enough mods or Fi a 325 can hit its gear/rev limited 160mph.

Realistically on a stock 325i with a chip the car will get up to about 135 pretty decently and you start to lose power after that. My car hits 135 pretty good and I need some time after that to get the speed up higher. My car struggles when it gets around 140mph + Which brings me to my next question. What upgrade would you guys recommend to get some power up top without sacrificing bottom end? I would think cams.

mines a euro spec and not governed was sitting right at about 6600 rpms doing 141 another 150 rpm's woulda been the rev limiter.

Been up to almost 140 in mine. I'd say around 138 or so if the speedo is correct. Bone stock with only a DINAN chip back then. I had LONG since left that 318 in the dust, so no point in accellerating anymore. I tend to not break 100 anymore. A lot more traffic on the roads now than when I bought my car and sped like a maniac. Don't want to risk injuring myself or others trying to hit a speed I know my car can hit.

You sure? Mine's stock and I hit 148 a while back. Is was slightly downhill if that changes anything.

140 here with 3.23 gearing. My rev limiter is set to 7,000 so I did have some more room, but there was a slight bend coming up and I was afraid a cop would be there. I would love to take my car to a track where I could really max it out. I'd have no fear taking the non-vanos all the way to the rev limiter and holding it there for a little while :)

It would be so great if they changed the way they did speed limits on the interstate, sorta like it is on the autobahn in Germany. I hate that you are limited at 70 on some crowded rush hour traffic driving a semi-truck. And you are still limited to 70 when driving in your BMW with no traffic going down 4 empty lanes of long straight road. Most times I can go 90-100 on the interstate and feel a lot safer than driving in the city.

I have had my car for about 6 months and the fast I have hit was 105. I did this not on a highway, but just a big, wide, newly refinished road with a long straight part. I was just driving down a big hill in 5th and hit the gas, then I have like, I wonder if I can hit 80 before the uphill without downshifting. So I just kept holding down the pedal and once I was at the bottom of the hill I was at 85 and the power was just really starting to come on so I started up the uphill like that. The car was pulling hard still at 105 uphill, but there was a side street coming, so I backed down.

I am really too terrified to do much above 100 on the highway. The fear of going to jail is just too strong.
