Does anyone have any links or info about testing O2 sensors? Possibly in a Bentley manual.

your check engine light will be on if they went bad, and you would have the get the ECU scanned, auto zones should have the scanners

You can also do the pedal trick as you have an US ODB1 car to get the codes. Search for it.
