I do know I shouldn't be racing other cars on public roads, but sometimes I just can't help it. I do keep in mind the associated risks.
I wouldn't call this a kill, as we never got side to side, and as we both had our highlights.
I was cruising back home (secundary roads), with a heavy bag on my trunk, when I see this late peugeot 206, all modded (like this (http://www.french-power.com/Grafiken/206black1.jpg) car, even tinted windows, which we don't see a lot here), sitting at the roadside. A few seconds latter, it's on my tail.
Those cars stock have +19hp, +60Nm and -200kgs than my car. That was noticeable, as he would take no time to gain speed after braking, while I had to push a lot more of mass into motion.
I pass a car, and he makes the pass, on tight space, to keep up. Ok, it's on. I take a few corners fast, and then comes a straight. I get in on 3th, wind it up to 4.000RPMs, shift to 4th, and same to 5th. Kept him behind me, but he was still very close. We keep taking more turns and short straights, but the story would repeat itself: I would come faster out of a corner, but he would gain back that distance on the straights, but not enough to overtake me. I passed a car and thought he had to space to do the same as there as a corner right ahead, but to my surprise, he did it at the same time, keeping like 40cms behind my rear bumper  so I delay my braking to make some space for him, and my tires squeal on the turn in.
After that we kept going fast, but not so "wreckless". Whole thing lasted 20kms (12,5miles). We reach a highway entry, he still behind me, he turns the hazzards on as to say it's over, I give him a thumb up, and he cumpliments me with the arm out of the window. Then, he turns in to the highway, and I continue cruising home.
Average mileage: 35mpg :D
PS: I'm really not shure I dig these pirellis... :confused
