View Full Version : Who runs without centercaps?
I've seen quite a few cars lately with no centercaps installed. I have the black ASA ar1's with the black face and machined lip. I don't like the way the black ones look with the blue and white BMW roundel on them. I don't have them... only seen pics. I was thinking about taking a wheel or two off the car and removing the centercaps just to get an idea on whether or not I like the look or not. Out of curiousity, for those who did the centercap delete... what was your reasoning behind this? I've only noticed this on mesh style type wheels, so I'm assuming it helps to give the car an even racier look. No?

I don't have center caps on my wheels. 1. they're expensive to buy 2. maybe a thief won't recognize my wheels and want to steal them since there is no flashy kinesis center cap.

same wheels, I didn't put them on simply because imo the asa center caps are ugly and i think it looks better without them.
only pic i got with these wheels

my new wheels didn't come w/ center caps, and I think they look ok w/o them.

I agree that your wheels look good without them. I think that is mostly due to how small the hole is. Kinda like the wheel was designed not to have one, which is probably the case since they don't come with them. It almost looks like a lug bolt hole. My wheels on the other hand have a very large center cap bore. I'm thinking it would just look odd without them on my car.
Also, I just posted a thread regarding adding a pic in my signature, but have since had no replies. Since I noticed that you also use photobucket to host your images I'm thinking maybe you can help me out here. Everytime I try to add a pic in my sig it gets chopped in half. It shows up fine on the preview, but when i look in my previous posts is when the image is cropped off. I tried editing the size in photobucket, but that didn't help. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

CCW Classic track wheels are made so they can't have them.

A lot of people who drive E30s with "basketweave" wheels (stock on the "is" and M3 cars) don't have the centercaps. Replacements cost $50+ each at the dealer!
