View Full Version : cdv mod just went BAD help!!!!!

i was changing my cdv valve on my e39 540 and hydrolic line snaped off the part that skrews into the cdv valve. it was rusted and i was having a hard time geting it off. what can i do now what needs to be changed now, what parts will i need, is this going to be a pita please help!!!!!!!!

One exclamation point conveys the point adequately.
All you need is a new clutch line. You didn't say what year 540 you have (production date is often critical to getting the right part as there are often updates).
Post what year you have and the part number for the hydraulic clutch line can be found. Or, you can go to your dealer and simply ask for the part based on your VIN.
It won't be much more difficult at all than removing your CDV... just another screw-on fixture, and you have to bleed the system anyway now that it is opened.

It was produced over a period of 12 months?
"Production date" means the actual date your car was manufactured. Like any car sold in the USA, it's on the sticker in the driver's door opening. It says "PROD DATE" and something like "08/97" (your car could have been built in August, 1997) or "10/98" (I'll let you guess what that means) .
