Has anyone tried the H7 bulbs described below in either the 55W or 100W version in their E39? Would the 100W version need electrical modifications (different fuse, etc) I think these are new bulb models from Hella (I don't have the hella part number)

"Xenon white light bulbs by Hella, H7 12V 100 W; extra bright; pair. These bulbs are filled with xenon gas and utilize a blue quartz glass which allows the bulbs to simulate the color of actual daylight. Great assist when driving in rain or dark winter nights. Bulbs are sold in a set of two. Can not replace orginial Xenon headlamp bulbs. Due to the high light output these bulbs ARE ONLY FOR OFF ROAD USE!"

Whats your goal for the lighting? If you want the brightest bulbs for the car without converting to HID then consider H7 bulbs that have the H9 burner. I believe this is an 85 watt bulb. This bulb puts out way more light but it is a traditional yellow halogen color. Any bulbs that are tinted will reduce light output. For high beams consider Halogen Infrared bulbs (HIR). I think they are bulb type 9011 or 9012. Both bulbs are a big improvement but not to the level of HID.

I got hi wattage 100W bulbs in my fogs and they burn out every month or 2.
I rather have them burn out rather then fry my harness though...

The higher wattage bulbs, while supposedly brighter, also tend to burn out quicker or cause other problems with the lighting harness or housing, although I remember hearing this more with the E36's.
