Anyone know if I run 17x8 rims with 245/40-17's if they will rub in the front? I haven't rolled the lip and dont' really want to...the 235/40-17's I have on there now don't rub but I don't know if the 10 mm will make a diff.

Also anyone know what the stock offset size is?

Thanks.

That will depends on your wheels offset. You don't have to worry about the fender because the clearance issue is on the inside where the strut is. The stock 17x8.5 with 41mm offset barely makes it and some wider tires with rim protector like Bridgestone S03 in 245 size will rub very slightly. So, if your wheels is 8" wide and the offset is less than 40mm (most aftermarket wheels are) you should be just fine.

Offset, suspension(strut body), tires all play a role here.

With my 15mm spacers, 245/40 on a 8.5 stock wheel, the front rubs on the outside slightly on really big bumps. So if you must use spacers, go with 10mm spacers, and you should have no problems on either side.

I was confused as to why my 8.5" 235's were rubbing suddenly front and rear since I had switched from Nittos to Kumhos, and I found out that the shop had mounted 245's instead of 235's on my wheels. Duuuhhhhhh!!! I feel like a dummy!!

Front tires only rub fender liner on almost full-lock turns and I've been told that eventually it will stop that as the plastic is worn away.

Actually, the 245's provide a little more protection for my wheels from curbing, so it's all good!!
