Actually, I dont know if Im going to win that auction, those need some pretty good reconditioning... but now after seeing some of the prices out there on 17" Style 5's they might be a hold me over until I get the Rondell's I want (and also might move me to 18"s after I see 17"s on the car).

I need rims so badly, but I cant settle for 17". Hey Hakwuzhere, I was just told that the 18" rondell 58's wont fit my car, but the 17" will, do you know why that is??

DO IT DO IT, you'll never get 18's (Style 5's at least )and 17's look GREAT on the 5er... Check out Duey's site with 17's..

That is a good deal.. and these are one of my favorite wheels period..

I want to kill this guy in the local club who picked up a set of these on almost brand new blizzaks for 250 bucks... yes thats right.

Im working a trade of 16" borbets with blizzaks plus 250 to get them.. hopefully I can pull it off, style 5's with Blizzaks in the winter FTW!

Did you call wheelexchange? They might just be out of stock of the 18's... because I know Ive seen the 18's on thier site for the E34 before.

Im afraid of 18's for the same reason Im afraid of buying a bodykit... I drive like 4k miles a month.... my tire payment per year would be like owning an M5!

And Im still thinking of buying an E34 M5 next year :devillook :mad :evil2

Ive been in touch through email and the guy claims that the 18" ones are for "1997+ 5 series". I dunno, maybe I'll fall back on the style fives if I cant get something in the next month.

i talked to this guy and he's out of his mind imo, he told me he turned down an offer of $1100 and expects to get more than that for them on ebay now. they are in real nice shape but do have minor rash on one of them and are used, not worth $1100+ imo...

No, those are the stock rims that came on the e34 540 and e32 740. They are called "honeycomb" weaves.

freetranslation.com, or just ask them a question, a lot of times the sellers speak english, albeit broken, but still. as per shipping it depends on the size of the item, and the willingness of a buyer to pay for the shipping. for bigger items, seats, engines and the like, it's just not worth it to ship to the US unless it's commercially.

SOT anyone know how much a front bumper weighs? there's something on german ebay i've got my eye on :evil2

do you type in german in the ebay search box?? lol

angrypancake
04-26-2006, 09:58 PM
lol no, i just search for general things (e34, m5, or alpina) then where it says: Sortieren nach (sort by) click the option for "hochste Betrage zuerst" (highest price first) and then have fun browsing around. I am an ebay addict.

I hear that. It helps to keep an ebay.com site open, then you can just switch back and forth between pages so you can use all the search options that you can't translate.... At this point I have it all memorized, lol.

Yeah they will. I have seen them on a black e32 735il and they fit the car well. effin awesome! I was thinking the style 5's would compliment an older 7 nicely. Now I just need 6 thousand dollars. 2 for the rims I've been procrastinating forever on(if he still has em), and four or so for a vintage 7! Then the aftermarkets go on e39, and style 5s on my soon to have 7 series. I'm going to make this happen as soon as budget allows, I need a v8 in a bad way- aren't some 7 series v10s? (which ones?) I'm really pulling for new e39 shoes by memorial day weekend- my B-day. I havent forgotten anyone.

The m60 V8's in the e34 5 series and e32 7 series are pretty sweet, but be prepared to spend more $ when it comes to parts, repairs, etc. They have to be maintained more often than the 6's. The 750il had the v12 engine in it. Although the torque and smooth acceleration in the v12 is orgasmic, the upkeep of them can sometimes hit you like a brick in the face.

e39dream
04-26-2006, 11:19 PM
I imagine the admission price for the v12 alone would be a personal "brick in the face" for me-- I'd be happy with a v8- but I'm thinking that a 7 series is not too likely to have a manual trans(another desire)... am I right? I'm doing some homework in the 7 series thread in different window..

Not necessarily, the 750 depreciates so much that they are usually found for decent prices. There are a few e23 and e32 manuals out there, but they are hard to find. I have seen a few e32 735il's with a 5 spd before.

It's definitely sweet looking, but just looking at the complexity of that engine makes me cringe a bit. If you are truly interested in the 750il's, become a member of Bimmer.info and pm a member called Shogun. I believe he has like 5 750il's or something lol. He is very handy and knows a shitload about those cars.

well- truth be told I feel I have some catching up to do as far as bimmer ownership, so I can easily see myself getting some type of older BMW in the future. I love the darn things. The v12 does look a bit cramped in there. I think a e34 540 manual is really what I should shoot for, but they are pretty sought after and cost $, not to mention most are already modded to hell. Basically I want something fast to drive on the weekends. I love how my 528i takes on the road, it's a great car, but I want to run something through the gears now and then. I live about 1/2 hour from a quality drag strip setup, and it would be cool to get some 1/4 mile times, something I don't plan on doing with the I6 auto e39.

That's pretty cool, but BMW's weren't realy meant for the dragstrip, especially the M60's V8's. It puts so much stress on the drivetrain/shaft etc. Be prepared to fix things if you regularly bring it to the strip.

Shogun = the man. His website is amazingly informative too. Links to how to fix damn near anything for an m30 engine. He's got a couple of highlines, and assorted 7's.

I'm not thinking all out dragster- just go down there before and after mods, that sort of thing. I try to drive my cars in direct relation to how much I think they can take- sometimes I'm right sometimes I'm buying new parts..
