Anyone get one of those Red light Camera Tickets?
I got one a few weeks ago in Hollywood.
Anyone know a good traffic lawyer in the area (can't do traffic school again) or tips on fighting the ticket?
Thanks.
My friend, who's a cop, tells me to throw them away. It's like jury duty. They have NO proof you recieved the ticket. They'll threaten you with suspension of your licence and getting thrown in jail but how can they prove you got the ticket. Maybe it was lost in the mail or someone at home threw it away.
If you don't like that, you could always use the TicketAssassin (www.ticketassassin.com)
It was the best $15 I've spent.

Get a photo plate cover from BavAuto. www.bavauto.com It's $30 and worth every penny. Yes, they may be illegal, but it's worth the chance!

If it was sent certified mail then they have a little more leverage. I'm sure there's plenty o' lawyers who will easily get you off the hook.
Unfortunately, you gotta grease the legal wheels....

I've heard that before also. In fact that's what I tell other people to do. But when its my butt on the line, I'm not sure I'm willing to take the risk. Not willing to do it on heresay. Anyone do this before and suceed?
I've been looking at the ticket assassin. Did it work? I don't have much grounds for arguing except the "illegal speed trap law". If you're willing, PM with the details of your ticket.
Thanks.

Wait... by how much did you blow the red light?
The worse thing about these camera's is big brother claims they cut down on accidents. Well they actually don't cut down on them because people starte learning about them and slam on the brakes and get rear ended... at least that's what happened in San Diego. So ALL they do is generate income... and they're pretty piss poor at doing that too. They're pretty expensive and they're not able to get a good shot of the plate and drive as much as they projected. In LA, they just send the ticket out regardless if they can see the driver. They use to screen them; now if they can make out the plate, you get one. It's a private company that sends the tickets AND get's a piece of each paid ticket. Sounds like a compflict of interest to me.

I can't read the time clearly, but the first shot is less then 1 second, and the second is around 1.x seconds.

You blew a red light by a full second? Damn, bro. You gotta stop for those... or so I heard.
