View Full Version : Faster please
Ok, 115 is getting a little annoying as a top speed. Does anyone make a 6-speed tranny for e30's? yes yes i have an m10 but i also have a turbo...which is tasty and newly added
also, what is the difference between euro bumpers for my year car and the ones i have on there now and why should i be excited to put them on?
oh and one more thing...where's a good place to put the battery in the trunk?

If you want a higher top speed you're going to have to change the dif.
Put the battery in the trunk on the right side.

Just curious how much did the combo (car/turbo) cost you? For you to start off with that car (and then have speed intentions) it had to have been a gift of some sort or the give away was so cheap you couldnt resist?
Did you know that you were getting (m10) a snail? IMO that is the wrong car for that trying to attain a high mph no matter what you do to it. I would suggest trying to sell it and plunk that cash down on a E30 325i/is, even a boner stock one will put you around 125-130, couple of mods and get another 10 mph easy. I know how it is once you've socked money into a car, the sentiments of your efforts get ahold of you. But how much faster are you looking to go as a daily driver on the street, or is this to be a track car and you getting smoked on the straights. In either case I agree with the diff change, maybe shoot'er up with some NOS, but you wont have that car long if you do that. Do you know what diff you have in there now?
yes, i did get the car almost as a gift...$300. I know the p/o put in a lsd but I don't know what the gearing is. Anyway to check? And the turbo is out of an old saab and i got it for free. So in terms of money spent on it...close to none. Also, another thing is the interior, when I bought it, the interior has just been redone so it's really nice. I'm not really looking to compete with a 325 because I like it when the mpg needle stays on 40 when i'm going to LA. I'm really just interested in going at the very most 140 or 150. As a daily driver the car is pretty awesome, and even when I do get an m3, I'll probably still keep this car. But in any case, my transmission is currently on its last leg, the synkros are about to call it quits, so I thought that perhaps I could just swap it out with a 6-speed since i'm going to have to spend money anyway.
