Woke up this morning and now my engine idles very rough. The car has a pronouced shake and the service engine soon light is ON. Car sounds like a chevy Pick-up! http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/images/smilies/cursin.gif
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I dont have a device to pull the codes, what options do I have to get them out?
Any one want to start a fund for relief effort, as I know this is not going to be a cheap fix? http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif
I am now riding the motorcycle till I can get it fixed... :redspot

Had the codes pulled and the only one that shows up is P0313 - Misfire Detected Low Fuel Level... any thoughts...

Sounds like it could be an O2 sensor but that code may point to some other things as well.
Until then have fun driving your Chevy.. seriously though it just needs some fixing and some TLC.

I might be in error, but I think you get that DTC when the fuel level drops so low that the pump can't maintain normal fuel rail pressure. How much fuel is in the car?

You may have a clogged fuel filter

changing it when I get home... any one know the location?
Does anyone know how to check fuel pressure from the fuel pump as well?

Actually im not sure of location but it should look like a round cannister in the fuel line.
mine is silver and has an arrow pointing direction (rear to front).

Little Fuel filter install instructions here, http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/maintenance/gen_maintenance/filters.htm. If not that, maybe failing Fuel Pump??:dunno

you didnt give us an update... try the fuel filter if that doesn't help try the o2 sensor if they're due for replacement. Run a bottle or two of techron to clean the dirt off the injectors.
If you are having problems figuring it out, since it's obd-ii you can use a more advanced scan tool to help in diagnosing the problem.

Don't smoke while changing the filter. Or after 'til you shower. (Sorry, had to say it.) What part of VA are you in, btw?
