Hey everybody, I have an manual 86 325e E30 and my gas mileage isn't very good. I got this car thinking the gas mileage would be better that my automatic 89 325i, but it's only better by about three miles. Also, I don't have any power. My 89 is pretty quick, but my 86 is slow. I don't get good gas mileage or power. Does anyone know if there is a problem with my car, or what? Any reply is appreciated.

but 30 MPG is pretty good for an E on the highway from what I've read. You want better you have to go with a 1.8.

It's really hard for anyone one to charm in without any numbers, stat or history of the car. Power is a relative term. Do you how what have been done to the E30, ie. replace plugs, clean injector, all the ususal stuff? Good luck.

What did you expect out of an eta? that is why they revised the engine to create the i. The gas mileage is not drastically better and there is a 40 horsepower defecit. Welcome to the wonderful world of etas. They are really slow. But whenever i get mad that my eta is slow I just remember how it has 300000 miles without a rebuild and runs right. If you want better gas mileage get a 318 with an m42. It has the same feeble power with no torque. If you want power make an i stroker.
