I have these 18 inch rims on my e36, they came with the car. The thing is they have the 215/x/18 and they are sooo tiny, the rims stick out past the tires and it is FUGLY. Im just curious to see how far you guys have pushed tire size. Im thinkng 255/40/18? perhaps?

how wide are the wheels and whats the offset? for a 255 you'll want at least an 8.5" wheel, and that will probably need spacers up front and a fender roll. 255/40/18 is also going to be way too tall. Check these threads for what other people have gotten to work:

I think you want 245/35/18.
Rear rims from an E46 M3 don't work well in an E36.

where will I start to rub first with 255s? the inner fender or the outer? does anyone know the offset of my rims?

look on the back side of the wheel, it should say what the size and offset are. offset is usually listed as ET40 or something (for a 40mm negative offset) and size is something like 18x7.5J. Just post all the numbers and we'll figure it out.

Why would you want 255s on a 325? :az

If they are front M wheels they would be 18X8 and you can run either a 225/40R18 or 235/35R18 all the way around. If you have staggered M3 wheels there is nothing that would no stick out of the wheel well.
