I might buy this 90 325i 2d auto tomarrow, (1000 obo). The body is straight as an arrow, but there is a lot of surface rust. the rear license panel is rotted pretty bad, and the trunk lid. otherwise the rust is minimal on the fenders, but no rust on the rockers, or underneith. the interior is not nice either. minor damage to the front grill, will need rad. support, grilles, and kidney. mileage is 160k, and will need brakes, tires, and I'm sure all kinds of general maintence $$$.
do you guys think it's worth $800 or so? I want to pick it up as a paint project, as I am currently working at a body shop, so I might be able to turn this beast around.
I have no experience with the 88-91 e30 market, so I was just asking what a later model beater e30 is going for. I paid 750 for my 87 and she has been strong for over 3 years.
what do you guys think? pull the trigger, or nic the idea???
thanks

I'd go for $700. I paid $900 for mine and ended up sinking in over $7k in mods/repairs to get her "road worthy"...and I still need to get the rust fixed on her.

F it, I'm just gonna get it, paint it, and even if i don't want to keep it, I'm sure I could sell it on r3v for a profit. they love late model bumpers.
anybody have a late model rear license plate panel f/s?

why couldn't you be on the east coast to hook us up with body work !
$800 seems a little high for a car with so many issues, but it's not going to get too much cheaper than that for a running E30.

I'll try to snag it for 650. it is some "african american" gentleman in the worst neighborhood of chicago. He doesn't know anything about it, and it is an auction car. I actually had to bring a weapon to feel safe looking at the car the first time. Tomarrow, with cash in my pocket, I'm rollin possie. we'll see how it goes.
Ese---that's one heck of a parts/mods list. fortunately, I currently have 2 e30's,one complete, and one in parts, so I could potentially build a nice car out of this new one.
Take a road trip smurf, I'll spray anything

Hell yeah, that's an excellent price. I bet it will run better after a tune up.
