A ten mm spacer will give a near flush look without rubbing. Be aware that spacers can introduce problems with wheel shimmy unless the spacer has a built in spigot that is a firm fit on the hub and the wheel. Any movement at either side can cause the wobbles. A better solution would be a wider rim at the correct offset.
I run 17 x 8.5" @ ET41 with 235/40 ZR17 this leaves about half inch clearance.
I'm running 17x8.5 on 225/45/17 all around. No problems. No spacers.

I don't believe you will need spacers with that setup. Avoid them if you can per ozbmw's advice.
