I think they are super cool. I'd rock it.

yeah, I've heard 2007 as well....which, I'm guessing, is when they'll have the sedan (or coupe) version in production.
And then there's rumours about engine choices (might be all 6-cyl's for the US market)...but I'm hoping they could bring a 4-cyl valvetronic.
Yeah, I've seen a couple pics of 1-series spottings in SoCal & the Bay Area, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had baja-california plates on it. Seems like quite a few imported exotic cars I've seen driving around San Diego had Baja-Cali plates on them...I'm guessing the emissions & federalization laws in Mexico are pretty much non-existant compared to California's.

Unfortunately they are not coming to the US for sale. I work for a BMW dealer and it's sad but true. What a shame they seem to think that it will lower their buying standard when in reality no car that they will design and build will turn off a true BMW lover in fact it would draw in a younger crowd to go along with their well established customer base....what a shame that's all I can say

Unfortunately they are not coming to the US for sale.Too early to tell. The E36 M3/4 wasn't destined for the US either.
I think the 1 will take away from the 3 in sales. Less money for dealers and BMW.
That could be a reason not to bring it in.
It certainly is not that people don't want them.
I'm ready to do Euro-delivery for one.
I for one will not be buying a new BMW unless it's a 1.
I have no interest in the E90.
Just picked up an E30 325iC. I don't see myself ever getting rid of my 328ti (engine swap). If I get another BMW it will be another E36 or E30.
If I have a desire for something new, Mazda will be getting my money and I'll crush my

NO 130i yet in manila. And no diesel versions as far as i know.
Very few people would afford a 130i, and if i had money for it, i would then buy a 3 series.

If this guy is right, then that really IS a shame. Sure, the younger crowd will buy them, but then they will get a taste of BMW ownership. They will instantly fall in love and want a 3, or even an M. American buyers are insatiable. You feed them and they get more hungry.
Not to mention the number of poorly built cars on American roads will decrease, and maybe people will drive with a little more pride as opposed to aggression. Cuz I know I'd never want a scratch on the Bimmer.

The two door hatchback isn't so bad looking after all.
Jees.....did I just say that ?
Well, I will have to see( and drive ) one, when they come to the dealership.
I hear they are very powerful, and handle well.
Can't believe I am actually starting to like this car.
Still looks like a rolling sardine can with the lid half open,
But it's growing on me. I think this car could be fun !!!
