is 18x8.5 too big for all around and what about 18x8 all around?

id would probaly say go with the 18x8.. that way you wont get TOO much rubbing..

Yea I agree. 18x8 is good for our wheel wells vs the M3. If you were to go with the 18x8.5s then you'd either have to go with thinner tires as are needed or roll your fenders for them.
Recommended tho: go with the 18x8s. Less problems.
oops: are you running any suspension upgrades? If you are running stock then I bet you are bouncing around and in that case go smaller rims or you will rub....... or..........upgrade your suspension if you haven't so that it is stiff enough to not cause rubbing when the car is jostled..........
