I've been looking to upgrade my stock 16" rims on my 2.3 Z3 up to the 17" m68 wheels from the e46, or to the 17" BBS RK's. There's a few things I've been considering though:
1.) weight - the m68's look like for all 4 wheels, they'll be about 16lbs heavier total compared to the BBS RK's (20-21lb wheels vs 16.8lb wheels). Or about 10% heavier including the tires. Right now my stock wheels weigh the same or maybe a pound less than the m68's. Would this difference in weight really be noticeable? Something you'd have to look for, or something that's really obvious?
2.) strength - being a daily driver, I'm worried about the potholes up north/etc that I'll be driving through, and I'm normally careful but I'd hate to have a lighter wheel get bent somehow just because I bought them for a very tiny increase in performance/handling.
3.) if I really wanted to (to try and run a non staggered tire width) I think I can run 235/45/17's on both the 7.5" wide front and 8.5" wide rear wheels right?
